This Week..! Meteoroid shower at the peak.

Are you a sky-watcher? So this is something you should not miss.

According to astronomers, this is an excellent year for viewing the annual Perseid meteor showers.

Perseids are meteor showers whose parent body is the Comet — Swift Tuttle. It usually occurs during July and August every year. This year, that is, in 2021 the meteor showers will peak on August 11,12 and 13.

Moreover the annual phenomenon causes up to 100 meteors to pass through Earth’s atmosphere every hour, travelling at speeds of up to 37 miles per second. So this week the meteor shower will probably produce the greatest number of meteors and the best time will be between midnight to dawn.

The meteor shower will be less visible in the cities due to pollution. Space enthusiasts can move to the outer areas to experience this phenomenon. They are best viewed in the Northern Hemisphere during the night in clear skies. Also, no device like binoculars or telescopes are needed.
